Second day with Blue Care

A tradition can establish itself without us noticing. Last year the Business Lease company introduced an environmentally friendly product under the name Blue Care and held a meeting with clients in order to introduce this product (or project, to be exact) more thoroughly. An event was held in Statenický Mlýn where we introduced this programme focused on socially responsible management of corporate car fleets. Toyota brought its hybrids and a fuel consumption competition was held. The pleasant atmosphere of the Detaillo restaurant served as a backdrop for all-day discussions on CO2 emissions and environmentally friendly approaches, because we simply need our cars for our business activities.

 

It was such a pleasant gathering that we decided to organise the Second day with Blue Care this year. More guests at the same venue meant that the place would feel a little crowded. Nobody complained, though. The programme was really interesting. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the lecturers, namely Mr. Robert Kotál from Dopravní akademie who talked about Blue Care courses for drivers, fuel efficient driving and defensive driving. Many attendees were surprised to learn there are many ways to improve the style of driving while maintaining the dynamic driving style, reducing CO2 emissions and fuel consumption and accident rate! Mr. Radovan Mužík deserves a round of applause for a very valuable lecture on the TCM methodology (Total Cost of Mobility). It is amazing how easy it is to calculate the cost of one kilometre and how one can select the most representative and fuel efficient vehicle for oneself! Another lecture, given by Mr. Tomáš Trejbal of Telefónica O2, revealed some opportunities for further savings and corporate car fleet operating efficiency through tracking. In addition, a novel feature was introduced which is focused on the protection of vehicles from theft.

The fuel consumption competition was held with Toyota Prius hybrid automobiles. In addition, we went for a ride in an Auris hybrid, Plug-in Prius and Lexus CT 200.

Autosalon Klokočka brought Green Line – Superb models which were comfortable and fuel efficient as always.

 

The winner of the fuel consumption competition was presented with an ASUS laptop. In addition, the good feeling that one can drive with 2.7 litres of fuel per 100 kilometres was also his award. Other fuel-efficient drivers were awarded other prizes, such as vouchers for free test drives of Toyota cars.

 

Even though the seventh of October was a rather cold Friday, which had nothing left of the recent Indian summer, we had a great time. The newly acquired knowledge will help us in our efforts to be environmentally friendly even behind the wheels of our cars.
